The centerpiece of the Golf Party in my Celebrate Everything book, this golf cake from Butterfly Bakeshop racks up points with guests and hosts—it looks impressive but is easy to make out of two rectangular cakes. Score!
What You’ll Need
- 2 rectangular cakes
- Buttercream
- Parchment or wax paper
- Scissors
- Green sprinkles
- Crumbled graham crackers
- Toothpick
- White paper
- Tape
- Candy golf ball
How-To
Step 1 Start with two rectangular cakes.
Step 2 Spread a layer of buttercream on one, and place the other on top. Refrigerate 15 minutes.
Step 3 Add green food dye to the rest of the buttercream, mixing evenly.
Step 4 Cut a sand trap shape and a putting green shape from parchment or waxed paper to use as templates.
Step 5 Ice the cake and then press the templates gently on top. Pour on green sprinkles, avoiding the two templates.
Step 6 Peel off the templates.
Step 7 Sprinkle crushed graham crackers in the sand trap space and stick a mini flag and candy golf ball on the putting green.
Play ball! (And eat cake!)
