As the Celebration Expert, one of my favorite things about the wedding industry is how talented and creative the people who work in it are—they make magic happen every day. I tapped some top experts for their ideas as to what might make Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcie’s wedding as unforgettable as the couple themselves. Here’s what they said.

The Overall Look

We pledge allegiance to their vibe. And here’s how some of the country’s top wedding planners, event and floral designers, and photographers interpret the happy couple’s vibe, and imagine the look and feel of the wedding of the year.

Planner Augusta Cole’s advice for Taylor is to “Go big with the stage installation,” like this Art-Deco design with a candy-striped pink-and-white dance floor, that, she says “definitely feels very’-“Life of a Showgirl’-coded.”

Inspired by the couple’s flower-filled proposal, floral and event designer Lewis Miller sees a garden theme, envisioning “an unbridled garden of emotion — wild, poetic, and sincere, with tons of garden roses, clematis, and meadow grasses gathered in sweeping bundles.”

Pulling a total wild card, photographer John Dolan said, ”Imagine if they shocked the world with a simple wedding in an Elks Club in western Pennsylvania with a local band and some balloons.” It’s giving “I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress/ It’s a love story, baby, just say, ‘Yes.’” And a sweet-and-simple affair would definitely have people talking!

Bridging the wild outdoorsy feel of Folklore with the romance of Lover, the team at Birch Production Co. says, “Based on what we know of Taylor’s style, we think she’ll lean into a balance of lush florals, a refined palette with thoughtful pops of color, vintage-inspired details, and deeply personal touches that beautifully speak to their story.”

Since Taylor is currently in her Showgirl era, photographer Roey Yohai says, “We have a couple of shots that to us embody what we’d love the wedding to look like — sparkly, shiny, THE BIG SHOW befitting both of these meganovas.”

Inspired by Taylor’s ‘invisible string’ metaphor, which, planner Norma Cohen says, “beautifully captures the idea of fate and connection,” Cohen envisions a ceremony structure “created from invisible strings, giving her love story a beautiful new beginning.” In her romantic vision, Cohen goes for the gold. “Taylor has often associated love with colors—red, black, and white—but when she described experiencing true love, she said it felt golden. Inspired by that, the ceremony aisle would be covered in gold leaf. And then we’d bring in purple flowers because we want her to be forever in the lavender haze. We see peach, yellow, pink, and lavender flowers, surrounded by golden light.”

For Belle Fleur, the pair’s ideal wedding is “a vision drawn straight from the world of Lavender Haze.” Using that song as a creative jumping-off point, Meredith Waga Pérez, owner of Belle Fleur explains, “the ceremony arch and aisle, lined with clouds of tinted baby’s breath and delphinium.” And these flowers don’t just look good, they fit the theme as well. “baby’s breath represents a devotion that never fades, perfectly mirroring the song’s theme of wanting to remain in that protected, ethereal state of love, untouched by outside voices,” says Waga Pérez. “The scene feels suspended in time, where reality blurs into something dreamlike.”

Also inspired by Taylor and Travis’s flower-filled proposal photos, photographer Greg Finck sees an outdoor idyll.  “After the way they revealed their engagement, I imagine Taylor and Travis opting for a backyard wedding—understated, authentic, and far from the glitz and glitter—with a beautifully organic dinner at home,” he says.

JZ Events predicts a romantic, candle-lit evening inside a special, historic landmark. The flickering glow would be reminiscent of the lyrics of Swift’s song Lover: “We could light a bunch of candles and dance around the kitchen, baby.”

Event Designer David Stark says the wedding could showcase “Summer at its finest” and envisions a fresh fruit- and vegetable-filled bash “celebrating the season’s best harvest, with a private BBQ bash at Liberty Island where the Statue of Liberty steals the show and the view is breathtaking.”

The Paper Goods: Invites, Escort Cards, Details

She usually writes songs and the occasional Midnight Letter, but Taylor (and Travis!) can now add invitations to that list.

Invitations

The team at Minted, drew up a wedding suite that captures the couple’s ‘Love Story’ era with a nod to their secret garden proposal—romantic botanical motifs, unique paper shapes, premium foil-press printing, countless customizations, and designs by independent artists that Taylor herself loves to champion.

Inspired by Swift’s tendency to write handwritten notes to every member of her production crew, and the flower-filled engagement moment, master calligrapher Bernard Maisner envisions hand-calligraphed invitations with floral motifs.

Photo Credit: Jenna Yasgur (left, right), McGuire McManus (middle)

Jenna Yasgur of Love Jenna Calligraphy sees invitations that are “classic and romantic, with a hint of disco,” since Taylor categorizes her songs as having “fountain pen, quill pen, or glitter gel pen” lyrics.

Stationer Cheree Berry takes inspiration from the couple’s personal details, such as Swift’s love of cats and handwritten notes.

Escort Cards

When it comes to an escort card display, wedding planner Leslie Mastin of Leslie Mastin Events envisions a highly personal interaction between the bride, groom, and their guests. “Taylor Swift is known for remembering details about her fans, a reputation built through personal interactions and events throughout her career,” she says. With that in mind, she sees Travis and Taylor doing something similar to what she did for a client’s wedding, which she calls a “Love Letter to Guests escort card display.” She explains, “The couple wrote a personal note to each guest, sealed it with wax, and included their table number to guide them to their seat for the evening.”

Details

“The quietest details often speak the loudest,” says event planner Calder Clark. “Grandma’s recipe in a matchbook, a lyric in a cootie catcher—each one a secret meant for those who look twice.” (Above are matchbooks she made with a client’s tea recipe inside.)

For Taylor and Travis, Clark says, “we’d riff off her love of numerology and nostalgia with custom cootie catchers—those sweet paperie keepsakes. Inside each would be a different parting gift from the couple . . . think tickets to one of his games or to one of her concerts!”

The Menu

Love is delicious. And all the best caterers know that what makes wedding food memorable is what makes it personal. The experts nodded to Taylor’s song lyrics, Travis’s touchdowns, and their hometown favorites while putting together menus that would also score points with guests.

Inspired by Swift’s love of baking—and her song Miss Americana and the Heartbreak PrinceAcquolina sees a Mr. & Mrs. Americana Dessert Table, which would include a wide range of famous American dessert items such as the pop star’s beloved Pop-Tarts, cakes, pies, and ice cream sundaes. And, of course, guests will want to make a toast or two! Since Taylor is known for loving fun, fruity vodka cocktails, especially a cosmopolitan, the team would create a custom bar cart offering cosmopolitans with floral ice spheres to bring in a unique, feminine touch.

Olivier Cheng of Oliver Cheng Catering and Events would create two signature cocktails for the couple, both with floral accents and in colors that call to mind a certain swift song that inspired the name of one of the drinks.

In honor of Taylor, there’s the LAVENDER HAZE, made with gin, fresh lemon, lavender, sparkling water, and flower elixir.
And guests can toast Travis with the KC SMASH, a mix of bourbon, blackberry, fresh mint, honey, fresh lemon, and bitters.

A New American Feast

Jordana Blitz of Little Gem has some inside insight as to what tickles the pair’s taste buds. “Taylor and Travis are often sighted at the Corner Store and now the 86—both owned by my friend and former officemate Eugene Remm—so a menu that blends upscale American classics with touches of Watch Hill and Nashville would be the perfect way to entertain their guests with their favorite foods,” she says. Below are her recommendations.

CAKE AND DESSERT

What pairs well with solutions to Champagne Problems? A wedding cake and dessert buffet that ends the night with a big, sweet finish.

Ladurée keeps it 100 on the land, the sea, the cake table with a macaron-covered wedding cake that shows how the bride and groom add up to perfection. (Her lucky number, 13, plus his jersey, 87 equal you know what.)

Photo Credits: Bastien Blanc-Tailleur (sketch), Lucas Somoza (references)

Bastien Blanc-Tailleur designed a Tsquared cake that will have guests Enchanted. “For Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, I envision a wedding cake that embodies understated elegance,” he says. “A creation of refined proportions, impressive enough to captivate every guest’s attention while maintaining a sense of graceful simplicity. The cake would be adorned with delicate handcrafted sugar flowers in soft, romantic shades of peach, muted green, and nude. Its surface could feature intricate sugar embroidery inspired by the bride’s gown, or subtle botanical motifs, evoking the charm of a sophisticated countryside celebration.”

The elegance and beauty goes beyond what’s on the outside, to the flavors themselves. “Inside, a harmony of textures would unfold in a vanilla and raspberry composition, crafted exclusively with the finest French ingredients,” he says. “The flavor profile would be elevated by a bespoke blend of vanilla beans sourced from Madagascar, Tahiti, and the Comoros, each bringing its own aromatic nuance to create a truly exceptional and memorable experience.”

Cake legend Ron Ben-Israel envisions a high-glam, ultra-romantic tiered showstopper draped in frosting “fabric”, swags of confectionary pearls, and covered in a secret garden worth of sugar flowers.

Having seen photos of Travis and Taylor’s flower-filled proposal, Navah Perlman Frost of Frosted by Navah suggests sweet treats to match the bouquet. “In addition to, or instead of, wedding cake, these buttercream floral cupcake bouquets could be placed on all the reception dinner tables and customized to match the bridal bouquet,” she says.

Carla Rubin of Creative Edge Parties had ideas for dinner stations named after Swift’s song titles—I Can Dough It With a Broken Heart for flatbreads/pizza, and Death by a Thousand Cuts for steak along with Paper (Onion) Rings. She would pair those with wine with a 1989 vintage. But she really leaned into the dessert buffet, envisioning options like:

In My Pop Tart Era – a grand Pop Tart station with full sheet-sized Pop-Tarts (Travis loves them!), toaster ovens, and DIY glaze

Love Story Croquembouche – Classical French tower moment with florals and berries

A Glazed Doughnut Installation to honor another Travis fave – Think: doughnut chandeliers

Make Your Own Ice Cream Bar/Lab – A wall of Cyclone machines, milkshakes, guest-choice mix-ins that’s in honor fo Travis’s Coldstone cake batter ice cream obsession

Roaming Cheesecake Eras Flight – Taylor’s favorite dessert served on guitar-shaped trays

Enchanted Bites + Bubbles – Late-night brunch station with French toast bites (brown sugar pecans for Travis, cheesecake-stuffed for Taylor), mimosas, and elderberry fizz mocktails

LATE NIGHT SNACK

To keep the party—and the fun!—going Olivier Cheng, working with JZ Events, sees a late-night snack that’s an elevated, gourmet take on Uncrustables. With their witty names and sophisticated flavors, these treats are, as Cheng says, “No crust, all fun!”
