WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Five Doughnuts (Glazed or Plain)
  • Doughnut Glaze (recipe below)
  • Sanding Sugar in Olympic colors: Blue, Black, Red, Yellow, Green (sprinkles or food coloring and frosting would work, too)
  • Five plates

Doughnut Glaze:

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • ½ cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • Sifter
  • Bowl
  • Whisk

Step 1 Sift sugar into bowl

Step 2 Add water to bowl

Step 3 Whisk until sugar is completely dissolved—will make a thin glaze

How To Doughnuts:

Step 1 Fill five plates with one color each of blue, black, red, yellow, and green sanding sugar.

Step 2 Working one at a time, dip each doughnut into the glaze, then into one bowl of sugar. Act quickly before the glaze dries!

Step 3 Repeat until you have five sugar-covered doughnuts, one for each color.

Step 4 Plate your doughnuts, setting them out with three on top (L-R Blue, Black, Red), two on the bottom (L-R Yellow Green) to imitate Olympic Rings.
